Intel launched Braswell series to replace Bay Trail-D, is going to slowly emerge over the next few months. This bad boy is a 14nm SoC.These processors will be an ideal choice for the people who wants live streaming or streaming box in an small form factor and they will perform ideal for HTPC servers also. MSI officially announced about three motherboards in their ECO line-up supporting Intel’s Braswell series.
The three motherboards are all Mini-ITX form factor but will different SoC. The most high end performer among these three is the MSI N3700I ECO with a Quad Core Pentium N3700 at 2.40 GHz , secondly the MSI N3150I ECO with a Celeron (Quad Core) performing at 2.08 GHz , and lastly the MSI N3050I ECO with a Dual Core Celeron performing at 2.16 GHz. All the boards are reported to support H.265 (HEVC) hardware decoding, and support for 4K via HDMI 1.4b, with the Gen 8 graphics on the Cherry Trail based 14nm SoC.
Now moving the DIMM section and the peripherals, all the boards have two DDR3L-1600 (SO-DIMM) slots for support up to 8GB of DRAM, with two 6Gbps SATA Ports and a PCIe 2.0 x1 slot, Gigabit Ethernet and USB 3.0 Ports. They designed a Passive cooler for a SoC with 6W. Looking at the I/O section we found a COM port and VGA/HDMI ports also , PS2 ports are also there and 2.1 Audio Codec on the board.
This is all we got to know , stay tuned for more information.
