Mivi is expanding beyond its established audio portfolio with the Mivi One, its first smartphone and an entry into one of India’s most competitive consumer technology segments. The company has confirmed that the phone will launch on September 24, 2026, with sales taking place through Flipkart.
The Hyderabad-based company says the Mivi One is built around a Qualcomm Snapdragon 5G mobile platform and is being developed with Indian consumer requirements in mind. Mivi is also positioning the device as an extension of its existing investment in product development, engineering and manufacturing in India.
Mivi One Brings Snapdragon 5G to the Company’s Smartphone Lineup
The Mivi One will use a Snapdragon 5G mobile platform, although Mivi has not yet disclosed the specific Snapdragon chipset powering the phone.
The company says the platform will provide 5G connectivity and the performance required for modern smartphone workloads. More detailed hardware specifications, including the exact chipset, memory configurations, display, cameras and battery capacity, have not been announced at this stage.
Mivi is also making its India-focused product development capabilities a central part of the smartphone’s positioning. The company says the device will be produced through its manufacturing ecosystem in Hyderabad.
From Audio to Smartphones
Mivi has spent the past decade building its consumer technology portfolio around personal and home audio products. Its existing range includes true wireless earbuds, neckbands, headphones, speakers and soundbars.
The Mivi One represents a substantially broader move for the company. Rather than remaining focused on audio, Mivi says it intends to build a wider consumer technology portfolio, with smartphones becoming its latest category.
According to Mivi co-founder Viswanadh Kandula, the smartphone represents the beginning of the company’s effort to develop broader end-to-end capabilities in the category.
The company says its longer-term ambition is to build a globally relevant consumer technology business from India.
Designed and Manufactured With India in Mind
Mivi is also emphasizing its domestic R&D, engineering and manufacturing investments with the Mivi One.
The company says its experience developing products for Indian consumers has influenced the smartphone’s design and positioning, with an emphasis on performance, design and value.
That approach puts Mivi One into a smartphone market where established manufacturers already compete heavily across multiple price segments. The phone’s eventual pricing and detailed specifications will therefore be important in determining where Mivi intends to position its first handset.
Flipkart Will Handle Distribution
The Mivi One will be sold through Flipkart, giving the company access to the retailer’s nationwide online distribution and logistics network.
Mivi describes its partnership with Flipkart, Qualcomm and Google as an important part of the smartphone launch, although the company has not yet provided detailed information about the specific role of Google beyond its involvement in the broader product partnership.
Pricing and Availability
Mivi has confirmed that the Mivi One will launch on September 24, 2026, through Flipkart.
The company has not announced pricing or the full specification sheet yet. Those details will be important for establishing the phone’s position against competing Snapdragon-powered smartphones in its segment.
With Mivi entering the smartphone market for the first time, the Mivi One will be an interesting device to watch, particularly as the company attempts to transfer its India-focused product development and manufacturing approach from audio into a much larger hardware category.
