We’ve already had a chance to play with Android L, thanks to Google’s developer Preview, but it looks like the new mobile operating system may get a few extra tweaks before its official release. A new video spotted on Google’s Chromium issue tracker site shows the updated OS in action, revealing slightly redesigned status and navigation icons.

The video itself just shows Chrome crashing on Android L, but it also reveals a few small tweaks to the software’s design. In the image above Android Police puts the two versions side-by-side (old on the left, new on the right). The status icons up top are bolder, and the Wi-Fi icon is a single form instead of a series of levels. At the bottom of the screen you can see that Android L’s new navigation buttons look smaller and get more room to breathe.

Of course it’s possible the final Android L design could change again between now and its final release, though it looks like the company isn’t planning any major visual changes compared to the OS it revealed earlier this year at its I/O conference. Google is expected to announce at least one new Nexus device alongside Android L sometime next month, so it shouldn’t be long before we can take the official new operating system out for a spin.
