Thermal Grizzly and Noctua have introduced the WireView Pro II Noctua Edition, a revised version of Thermal Grizzly’s GPU power monitoring device designed for graphics cards using the 12V-2×6 power connector. The new model combines WireView’s per-conductor current monitoring with a custom Noctua cooling system aimed at reducing fan activity and acoustic output.

The WireView Pro II is designed to monitor the electrical conditions at the GPU power connector rather than simply reporting total board power. It measures current independently across each 12V conductor, allowing uneven current distribution and potential contact-related issues to be identified before they develop into localised heating and connector damage.

What the WireView Pro II Noctua Edition Does

The device monitors current, voltage, temperature and total power consumption. A built-in TFT-IPS colour display provides readings and configuration options directly on the unit, while configurable thresholds can trigger visual and audible warnings.

Thermal Grizzly also includes a splitter cable that allows the WireView Pro II to initiate an automatic system shutdown if configured limits are exceeded. PC software provides additional monitoring and configuration options, while the USB-C connection can be used for firmware updates.

The monitoring hardware is particularly relevant to high-end GPUs using the 12V-2×6 connector, where individual conductor loading can reveal conditions that may not be obvious from total power consumption alone.

Noctua Focuses on Keeping the Fan Off

The major difference with the Noctua Edition is its cooling system.

The device uses a CNC-milled aluminium heatsink with an integrated frameless NF-A4x10n fan and a custom Noctua fan grille. The heatsink provides additional thermal mass and passive heat dissipation, allowing the fan to remain switched off for longer under load.

Noctua’s testing was conducted under particularly demanding conditions, with case fans disabled and internal case temperatures exceeding 40°C. Under those conditions, the Noctua Edition did not need to start its fan at GPU loads of up to 300W.

At 200W, the standard WireView Pro II started its fan after 5 minutes and 40 seconds, while at 300W it started after 2 minutes and 15 seconds.

At higher loads, the Noctua Edition also delayed fan activation:

480W2 min 50 sec1 min 25 sec

Noctua reports that the Noctua Edition kept the monitored GPU connector around 3°C cooler on average during these tests.

When the Fan Does Run, It Runs Much Quieter

The other part of the redesign is fan speed.

Under the same extreme test conditions, the standard WireView Pro II operated its fan at roughly 5,000 RPM, producing 39.4 dB(A) at 10cm. The Noctua Edition stayed below 2,000 RPM and measured approximately 21.5 dB(A) at 10cm.

Noctua gives corresponding figures of approximately 19.4 dB(A) and 1.5 dB(A) at a distance of one metre.

The intent is straightforward: keep the fan inactive for as much of the operating range as possible, and keep it substantially quieter when additional cooling eventually becomes necessary.

Pricing and Availability

The Thermal Grizzly WireView Pro II Noctua Edition is available through Thermal Grizzly and its sales partners.

The manufacturer’s suggested retail price is EUR 189.90 / USD 189.90. Thermal Grizzly also provides two years of coverage for the GPU’s 12VHPWR or 12V-2×6 connector with the product.

The product was previously shown by Noctua at Computex 2026, with September availability planned.

For owners of high-end GPUs using 12V-2×6, the WireView Pro II Noctua Edition is positioned as a monitoring and diagnostic accessory with a particular focus on making continuous power monitoring less intrusive in low-noise systems. Its main hardware change over the standard WireView Pro II is the larger passive heatsink and semi-passive Noctua cooling approach.
