According to rumors the next family of high-end Intel processors based on the Broadwell-E architecture – may have a model with 10 cores and 20 threads . The chip in question is rumored to be called Intel Core i7-6950X and has a base frequency of 3 GHz, as well as 25 MB of L3 cache.
The new family Intel Broadwell-E, can be installed on the platform LGA 2011-3 based on the X99 chipset , this CPU would represent an important step for the industry, because it would be the first CPU with 10 cores released for the consumer market. Intel already offers solutions to some time within the 10 core workstations and servers under Xeon brand.
And this flagship model is being accompanied with three other models , which are rumored to be named Core i7-6900K, Core i7-6850K and Core i7-6800K .They too will be based on the architecture Broadwell-E, but according to rumors will have lesser number of cores : the 6900K will offer 8 cores and 16 threads , 20MB of L3 cache and will have a base frequency of 3.3 GHz.
The model 6850K will have 6 cores and 12 threads , 15MB of L3 cache and a base frequency of 3.6 GHz, and finally, the Core i7-6800K , will also have 6 cores and 12 threads, in addition to 15 MB of L3 cache , but it will have a frequency of 3.4 GHz.
There is no mention of the TDP of these solutions, but it will probably not deviate much from that of Intel Haswell-E, which is standing at around 140 to 150 watts. As for the pricing regard, they are expected to be priced upwards of $ 400.
