Ea games, fairly known for their most successful franchisees like Battlefield, Need for Speed, Fifa is now planning to join the the open world genre very soon. According to EA CFO all the preparations are already on the last phase and we can hear some good news pretty soon. Blake Jorgensen said and we quote, ” We’ve never really operated in the largest genre of gaming, and that’s the action genre. That’s the Assassin’s Creed-style games; more open-world, more single-play versus multiplayer. It’s not been an area that we’ve operated in.We recently hired Jade Raymond, who was behind the Assassin’s Creed franchise for Ubisoft and she will be building an action genre for us through a studio we’re building out in Montreal right now (Motive Studios). So a lot of excitement around the action genre.”
EA games are already on the path to produce different genre of games along with their renowned franchisee. This year at E3 they showed their latest indie offering Unravel which got great response from people. With EA making their debut in the largest genre of gaming its now very much interesting to see how Ubisoft responds to it who recently managed to restore some of their glory with Assassin’s Creed Syndicate (read our Assassin’s Creed Syndicate review).
