The rumor mill is on overdrive since AMD teased their GPU lineup earlier in March. Today we have one more info coming out : AMD’s Radeon Pro Duo may Launch on April 28th, offering 16TFLOPS of FP32 performance which puts it on equal if not better footing than recently announced Nvidia Tesla P100.

Radeon Pro Duo is based on two of AMD’s Fiji GPU cores, giving this GPU a total of 8192 GCN GPU cores and a total of 8GB of HBM memory, all of which is cooled by a custom made Cooler Master AIO water cooler. On the price side of things we have a 1500USD tag which makes it more costly than two fury X, though the fact that is the fastest single GPU might justify the price.

The Radeon Pro Duo is the most powerful single PCB GPU yet, offering more computational power than GTX Titan Z and AMD’s R9 295X2. GPU will be powered by 3x 8-pin PCIe power connectors and will be cooled by a thick 120mm radiator and a Cooler Master made AIO liquid cooler

GPU will be powered by 3x 8-pin PCIe power connectors and will be cooled by a thick 120mm radiator and a Cooler Master made AIO liquid cooler unlike the older 295×2 which had an hybrid cooling setup.

Radeon Pro Duo  is very similar to the R9 Fury X n terms of aesthetics, but in reality is is much more similar to a dual R9 Nano setup in terms of performance.  What that means is that the GPU will not outperform Dual Fury X or a dual GTX 980Ti setup but it will easily surpass single PCB GPU that is available right now.

Right now it’s unknown if Nvidia is planning to release a dual GTX 980Ti or GTX Titan X to compete with this card, the most likely competition will come from Pascal series
