Homefront: The Revolution

Homefront: The Revolution

Dambuster Studios, developers of the upcoming open world game Homefront: The Revolution, recently announced that the game is arriving for Mac too.

Both Dambuster and Deep Silver had previously announced that the Homefront Sequel would be coming to the PC along with Linux, but there had been no mention of a Mac port. Just as Mac users were starting to feel left out since almost no good games make it to Apple’s sophisticated PC counterpart, Dambuster Studios’ official Twitter handle tweeted the following:

The news that this tweet bore was confirmed in an official press release by the studio

Homefront: The Revolution is scheduled for release on May 17th in North America, and May 20th in all other territories on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC. Native Mac and Linux versions are also in development.

Although the first Homefront title was not one that was hugely popular, the sequel looks promising, to say the least. From the looks of it, the Homefront: The Revolution really improved on everything that the prequel got wrong. The fact that the setting is now an open world one makes the title all the more interesting.

Another interesting fact is that Homefront: The Revolution will be the first entry on Mac’s gaming scenario to be based on CryEngine. This will pave the way for future games if it comes out as a success and Mac users will now finally be able to experience gaming as much as they enjoy limited features.

Gamers can pre-order the title from Steam at a price of $59.99, although it is recommended to wait as games on Mac usually end up horribly or are forgotten by developers post-release.

Homefront: The Revolution releases for Microsoft Windows, Play Station 4, XBox One, Linux and now Mac later this year. Until then, behold the latest and very much beautiful trailer of the game.
