Samorost 3 is the latest video game by the czech indie developer Amanita design. It is a point and click game and this devs are specialists in doing just that. The first two games in the franchise were rather shorter than this third one where gameplay is multi hours long with plenty of discoveries awaiting to get discovered.
The story is about a droopy nosed little man who is the protagonist, who sports a nightcap finds a flute falling from the sky. The flute allows our protagonist to the sounds of the natural world and play the melodies that reveals the secret of the galaxies. Our protagonist soon discovers that the same flute was owned by monk’s powerful cult. Their is also an old disciple who is on the loose, who vowed to take this flute in order to control a dragon to rule over the entire galaxy. In order to stop this, our protagonist has to travel various planets hurdling across various wildlives and challenging environments.
The story of this game is very simple. Their is a wrath on the loose that vowed to destroy the entire galaxy and you have to put an end to the wrath. There is no dialogue in Samorost 3 but the way the story is being told to the players is itself is a masterpiece point and click. Players have to go through hand drawn environments which are pleasant to the eye. Characters are very interesting. Some characters are with emotions, some characters are with angers, which without any dialogues, are intriguing enough to know the story itself.
The sole objective of this game is solving puzzles and exploring. There is no combat in this game. Bosses and main villains are to be defeated using trickery. Samorost 3 is a plain, simple and peaceful experience without any combat where players are allowed to travel from planets to planets. each planets have their own secrets which can be discovered. Each secrets that will be discovered will carry achievements that will unlock.
Samorost 3 is a heaven for artwork and good point and click gameplay. It has amazing characters which makes us fall in love with them and get attached with them.
My Final Verdict, Samorost is back with it’s classic point and click adventure genre with a well written story and characters with its third game in the installment. I give this game a 8.5 out of 10 and for yet another great delivery by this classic indie dev, a thumbs up from me and suggestion to all of you to try it out.
