MSI is refreshing its 32-inch 4K QD-OLED monitor lineup with two new gaming-focused models designed to solve some of OLED’s most talked-about limitations — raised blacks in bright rooms and inconsistent HDR brightness.
The newly announced MPG 322UR QD-OLED X24 and MAG 321UP QD-OLED X24 introduce DarkArmor film technology and uniform luminance control, while continuing to use MSI’s latest third-generation 5-layer Tandem OLED panel with EL Gen 3 technology.
DarkArmor Film Addresses Ambient Light and Black Levels
One of the biggest complaints surrounding QD-OLED displays has been their performance under ambient light. MSI’s new DarkArmor film is designed to absorb stray light and reduce the purple or reddish tint that can appear on standard QD-OLED panels.
According to MSI, the result is up to 40% improvement in perceived black levels, along with increased screen surface hardness from 2H to 3H for better scratch resistance in daily use.
Uniform Luminance Brings Predictable HDR Brightness
Both MSI monitors include Uniform Luminance, a feature aimed at smoothing out HDR brightness behavior. Instead of abrupt brightness drops caused by aggressive automatic brightness limiting, uniform luminance maintains consistent brightness across varying window sizes.
For gamers and creators, this translates into fewer distractions during gameplay, desktop work, and HDR video playback.
MPG 322UR QD-OLED X24 Adds AI-Based Panel Care
The higher-tier MPG 322UR QD-OLED X24 introduces MSI’s AI Care Sensor, powered by an NPU-based IC. The system uses real-time human presence detection to manage panel protection routines automatically.
When the user steps away, the monitor can initiate protective measures without manual input, helping reduce long-term OLED wear while keeping the experience uninterrupted.
DisplayHDR True Black 500 Certification
Both new MSI displays are certified for VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500, positioning them firmly in the premium 4K OLED gaming category. The certification ensures deep blacks and high contrast levels, particularly beneficial for HDR gaming and media consumption.
