Leak Shows GTX 1060 Coming Out On Top :

Prior to the launch of the RX 480, leaks revealed much of the information about the GPU. The same is being repeated as leaks continue to surface, prior to the launch of Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 1060. The GTX 1060 is slated for launch on 7 July 2016. The latest leak shows the GTX 1060 trumping the RX 480 in benchmarks.

XFastest has leaked the 3DMark FireStike Ultra results for the GTX 1060. The results show Nvidia’s GPU beating the AMD’s RX 480. The GTX 1060 beats the RX 480 at 4K, scoring 3014 as opposed to the AMD GPU’s score of 2712. That’s a margin of 302, which is not very huge. But, it gets worse for the RX 480 because the results of the 1080p benchmarking are not in its favour as well. At 1080p the Nvidia GPU scores 11,225 while the AMD GPU scores 10,600. The GeForce GTX 1060 will reportedly feature 6GB of GDDR5 RAM at 8GHz, 1280 CUDA cores, 80 TMUs, 192-bit memory bus. From this leak and the previous ones that have popped up on the internet, it’s been indicative, that Nvidia have a winner here, but there is more to the story than just numbers.

Nvidia has scrapped multi-GPU support for the GTX 1060 and the question still remains about the pricing. The RX 480 has 4-way CrossFire support. AMD has been spot on in the pricing department and it’s foothold in the 200$ – 250$ segment looks strong. Nvidia has to come up with competitive pricing for the GTX 1060 to truly give the RX 480 a run for its money in the mid-range GPU segment.
