Dubbed as the MG248Q, the MG28UQ, and the MG24UQ, all three displays are targeted to the gamers who want to play in high resolution without creating a big hole in their pocket. The new monitors support VESA’s Adaptive-Sync technology and should be compatible with any Radeon graphics card that supports AMD’s FreeSync dynamic refresh rate technology.

Coming to the models, the biggest one is the MG28UQ based on a 28″ TN panel with 3840×2160 resolution and a 330 nit brightness. The MG28UQ has a default refresh of 60Hz and the variable refresh rate range floats between 40 to 60Hz which is typical for 4K monitors. The display is equipped with one DisplayPort 1.2 and three HDMI outputs along with dual USB 3.0 with quick charge support. The display also comes with VESA mount support.

The MG28UQ is available now for $549 from Amazon which is not exactly very pocket-friendly given its a TN Display but not too expensive either.

Next up the MG24UQ is a little bit small coming in at 23.6” diagonal, however, the selling point will be the IPS display. Sporting the 3840×2160 resolution the MG24UQ supports refresh rate from 40 to 60Hz with 300 nits brightness. Other specifications are the same as the MG28UQ(one DisplayPort 1.2, three HDMI inputs and adjustable VESA mounts). It also features 2W Audio speakers but no USB docks.

ASUS MG24UQ can be pre-ordered now for $399 on Amazon.

Finally, the Asus MG248UQ is designed for those for whom who value high refresh rate above everything(144HZ master race?). This display will be the first 24″ display from Asus which supports 144Hz refresh rate as well as Active-Sync technology. specs wise we are looking at a 1920×1080 TN Panel offering 350 nits of peak brightness offering a slightly aggressive and better specification than the VG247H and the VG248QE . The display supports refresh rate from 40Hz to 144Hz which is a very dynamic rate along with making it compatible with NVIDIA’s 3D Vision stereo-3D kit.

The 248UQ will start selling in the coming weeks for a price yet unknown. Typically these displays are not very expensive if we look at the market trend.

Asus currently have a huge market share in displays however they were not what everyone will call “pocket-friendly”. The new MG-series monitors should help ASUS to get rid of the “expensive” tag.
