YouTube is hitting hard this time.Content creators are majorly affected by these new policies a lot.Recently, YouTube has tightened their terms and conditions for the eligibility to monetize YouTube contents with ads attached to it.As their terms go, a channel must have 4000 hours of watch time and 1000 minimum subscribers for the last 12 months, in order to monetize their videos. This is also applied the same to all existing YouTube channels and contents as of 20th February in order to monetize.Any channel new or existing failing to meet these requirements will no longer be able to make income any further from YouTube.

Previously it was 10,000 public views required to monetize a YouTube channel and earn from it.Now, new smaller channels will be seriously affected by the new criteria where YouTube states themselves as they require more ways of buying itself to monitor who’s following the company’s guidelines where they will disqualify -‘ bad actors’.

“We’ve arrived at these new thresholds after thorough analysis and conversations with creators like you,” stated by YouTube in their recent blog post. Also, “They will allow us to significantly improve our ability to identify creators who contribute positively to the community and help drive more ad revenue to them (and away from bad actors).”However, no names never mentioned though it is somehow pointing towards the recent incidents related to Logan Paul stating, “These higher standards will also help us prevent potentially inappropriate videos from monetizing which can hurt revenue for everyone.”

To know more about the incident related to Logan Paul, one of YouTube’s star creator and influencer please have a look here.

This is not a new issue that has come up recently. It has been prevailing on YouTube for years and YouTube has taken corrective measures wherever needed to counter these issues. But this time it’s more rigorous and that’s what it made up for such a limelight.

To make a conclusion, ‘original YouTube content creators’ and advertisers will no longer be troubled by such issue as it happened now being part of the Google Preferred. And more contents will be appearing abiding by the new laws and regulations.

What do you people think about the new rules? Is it worth? And how do you want to contrast between the business of the content creators and YouTube itself?Do let us know in the comment section at the earliest.
