Ubisoft’s The Division is currently going a closed beta phase with keys being handed to people who pre ordered, streamers, journalist or people who won giveaways and it appears that the game is very easy to hack. In fact all it requires is editing a text file.

This discovery has led to many customers cancelling their pre orders, who want Ubisoft to confirm that they will implement some sort of anti cheat to combat the hackers. Currently the way the netcode is written, all stats are stored on the client side with no verifications ocurring on the server side to prevent tampered data from being used. As a result hackers are using unlimited ammo, no recoil and god mode to take advantage of other players in the Darkzone which is the PvP component of The Division.

Ubisoft Massive has acknowledged the problem and said they are working on it. And since this is a closed beta, I am hoping Ubisoft manages to implement a strict anti cheat system with zero tolerance for cheaters.

I did not have any encounters with cheaters in my 14 hour of beta and I liked the beta overall. Tom Clancy’s The Division is an upcoming online-only open world third-person shooter role-playing video game with survival elements developed and published by Ubisoft, with assistance from Red Storm Entertainment, for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and is set to release on 8 March 2016.

  1. I had very high expectations with The Division (they took so much time, then it should be good) where everyone on the internet was talking about it being shitty for sure when it releases . Now what has happend here is that people would see sparks and flints all around but now the news of easy hacking in the game has led to fire. People should understand that its a game and there’s hack in almost every game if not in all. These topic are sure to arise during beta , thats why its Beta.! Pre-ordering s like putting money on the line. I really like the Beta as i got a hands on for about 3 hours in a local cafe and what i can say about the game right now is only a step below my expectation.Everything is fine as it should be.and its pretty good for a Ubisoft game and i look forward to buy the game on March 8 .
