As much as people love to hate remastered video games, some exceptional works of art have stood the test of time and the achievement-hoarding patience of nerds and fans alike and, as such, don’t garner as much hate from the aforementioned towards their possible remasters. Fast forward 20 years since the original System Shock hit both retail shelves and a successful, cult following, Night Dive Studios have just confirmed speculations of the badly ageing System Shock getting remastered and released post-Kickstarter, dated May 29.

Now,what does this mean for die-hard fans and newcomers to the franchise? Well, Night Dive have recently teased how this remaster would be “keeping all the things you loved, while updating the user interface and graphics to use a modern day engine“, with said engine being the Unity Engine. Now, Night Dive haven’t outright stated whether or not there will be a playable Beta during the Kickstarter campaign, but we’ll let you decide whether or not the pre-Alpha demo images below make you tingle in some way or the other.
