Standalone announced at E3:

Just a few days ago developers CD Projekt had filed for a new trademark for Gwent (including a logo) with European Union Intellectual Property Office. After being spotted it immediately started generating buzz. Speculation ran amuck, that CD Projekt may be developing a standalone Gwent game. It quickly gained such popularity that a fan site sprung up where people could play the game of Gwent. This website did not live long, as it was shut down after CD Projekt Red contacted the maker personally, asking him to take down the game, stating that they did not want Gwent to be playable online. This happened a short time after The Witcher 3 was released in 2015.
