Galaxy A8

The recently leaked hardware specifications of the Galaxy A8 are impressive. So much so that the Galaxy S6 owners may feel a bit down. These leaks appeared on GFXBench.

Galaxy A8 Comes with an Exynos 7420 and Full HD Display

The Galaxy A8 is rocking an Exynos 7420 much like the Galaxy S6 and if you’re not familiar with that, it features a combination of Cortex A-57 and Cortex A-53 cores. The octa-core processor will be enough to process almost every kind of application the Galaxy S6 can and can do such at decent savings.

Although the Galaxy A8 does not have a QHD resolution like Samsung’s previous generation flagship, a Full HD display will be there to entertain you. This is a pretty good move by Samsung, as it will not drain the battery at a rapid pace. There is rumor the display will be a Super AMOLED display, featuring sharper and more vibrant colors.

There will be a 16MP back camera that can record 1080p footage. Since the Exynos 7420 can record 4K videos without much effort, we believe the 1080p recording is a bit overkill, or maybe the processor really is overkill. Maybe the camera is the limitation instead of the processor being too much of an upgrade. Assuming the Galaxy A8 will have a larger battery capacity than the S6, along with a lower resolution, it’s easy to say that this is a Galaxy S6 clone with a few short ends.

Pricing for the device has not been confirmed as of now. But we believe that it will be an affordable mid-range phone with powerful hardware. How this affects the Indian market is worth a look. The Galaxy A8 may be a decent purchase for people who don’t have an issue with devices featuring previous-gen hardware.
