Samsung today announced that they have started mass production of the NVMe variant of the SM951 M.2 SSD.
Samsung was producing an AHCI-based PCIe 3.0 version of its SM951 SSD since January, now with this NVMe variant their portfolio look stronger.
The SM 951 is said to have achieved sequential data read and write performance up to 2,260 megabytes per second (MB/s) and 1,600MB/s, respectively, with Samsung’s in house controller.
