It appears that the game map for Red Dead Redemption 2 has been reportedly leaked.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is the much-awaited sequel to Red Dead Redemption a western, action-adventure game that was originally released for the previous generation of consoles and is the spiritual successor to Red Dead Revolver. Rockstar has yet to reveal anything on what is set to come next in the franchise.

Rumour : Red Dead Redemption 2 Map Leaked

NeoGAF user Mideon, who later removed it, remained silent on his sources. However according to Techradar the leaked map might be legit as “a source close to the development of the new Red Dead game has confirmed to us the map is indeed the real deal.”

The map features Great Plains, where the Blackwater area from the first game was located. There are numerous islands and a lot of water as seen on the map, indicating the player may be able to either swim or take a boat out to new locations.

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick revealed how the company is preparing for the E3 annual event, where it will make its presence felt “in a big way.”

We might actually find something out at E3 this year due to the fact Strauss Zelnick, CEO of parent publisher Take-Two, revealed that they would be coming to the show. Two years ago, during an analyst conference, Strauss Zelnick said: “it seems quite obvious that Red Dead is a permanent franchise”. So there’s still hope of seeing a sequel to the 2010 hit Red Dead Redemption.

Rockstar, the company behind the series is currently locked in a legal battle with Leslie Benzies over millions of dollars in allegedly unpaid royalties and questions over who is ultimately responsible for the company’s success.

Leslie Benzies, the lead producer on the Grand Theft Auto (GTA) series from GTA3 to GTA5, is suing Rockstar for $150 million US dollars in damages over allegations he was unfairly forced out of the company.

It is unclear if this will be affecting their E3 show in any way.

This year’s E3 show is slated to run from June 14 to June 16. It remains to be seen how Take-Two will be rocking the much-awaited event, but they definitely got the hype train rolling.
