Just a few weeks after the release of AMD’s 480, we finally have news about its new GPU… RX 490. AMD, on its website, accidentally listed the RX 490, a fact that was quickly spotted by a redditor and was posted at the same moment.
The RX 490 Gets listed on AMD’s Promotional Page and its shipping data points towards a Polaris Dual GPU graphics card. The 490 RX will be a 4K ready card that will be taking on the GTX 1080 at a similar( probably) price point.
The existing Polaris based lineup currently maxes out at the Polaris 10 based RX 480 – which is roughly equivalent to the GTX 1060 in terms of graphical performance. According to AMD, Polaris 10 is the largest 14nm FinFET GPU available right now.
C99 indicates that the GPU is of the Polaris family (remember, the first number after the letter C represents the architectural generation.) but roughly twice the power of the RX 480.
AMD has previously stated that two RX 480s can beat a GTX 1080, its very much possible that this statement was a big hint towards something which will be coming way sooner than we expected it to come.
As far as the pricing or the exact specification goes, we don’t really have much information as of now but we will surely keep you upto date with it as soon as more news reveals. So Stay Tuned to TechARX for more tech news Folks. But Seeing how AMD has priced the 480 here, its a matter of time before we see how much does the 490 come for with respect to the GTX 1080 Here.
