Nvidia is looking to make game creation for android a bit easier with their newest developer tools.

AndroidWorks is the latest release from the company, which builds on top of their existing GameWorks tools. NVIDIA wants to make things easier for all developers, and they believe their new tools can do just that.

GameWorks helps developers bring their visions to life with support, samples, libraries, tools and access to more than 200 engineers focused on the cutting edge of games and graphics development.

With AndroidWorks, the best native Android application development tools are available to all Android developers across a range of devices.

Nvidia updated its company blog  with news that the GameWorks developer toolset has been expanded to Android. Named AndroidWorks and based on the Tegra Android Developer Pack, Android developers now have something other than the Android SDK to create games and other experiences on all Android devices, not just ones based on the Tegra SoC.

The tools will be compatible across all Android devices and integrates with Microsoft Visual Studio through Nsight Tegra, Visual Studio edition.

“AndroidWorks helps us bring players incredible mobile experiences on a variety of Android devices and chipsets,” said Lewis Strudwick, studio technology director at EA Melbourne.

“Nvidia’s tool advancements are refining Android to a level matching game console development,” added Niklas Smedberg, senior graphics programmer at Epic Games

With Androidworks , Nvidia hopes to “unshackle developers from the constraints of the Android software development kit” and “unleash” the full potential of Android hardware .
