Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

Square Enix and Eidos-Montréal unveiled a significant amount of details surrounding their upcoming Deus Ex game, called Deus Ex: Mankind Divided today in their Pre-E3 livestream. Set 2 years after Deus Ex: Human Revolution, the game marks their biggest addition to their Deus Ex Universe initiative, which aims to meld the entire world of Deus Ex into one coherent block.

Firstly, We saw the reveal of Deus Ex: GO, the new game in Square Enix’s GO titles, that focus on core gameplay of the respective games, optimized and stylized for mobile devices. Deux Ex: GO is the third GO title, following Hitman GO and Tomb Raider GO.

Deus Ex GO is a turn-based infiltration puzzle game set in a stylized interpretation of the Deus Ex Universe. As double agent Adam Jensen, you’ll use hacking, combat, and augmentations to solve the most challenging puzzles of the entire GO series. Work alongside your allies in Task Force 29 and the Juggernaut Collective as you infiltrate locations to unravel the conspiracy behind a terrorist plot.

Following that, They also revealed a new game mode for Mankind Divided, stating that the April Fools’ “prank” wasn’t just a prank. The new mode is called Deus Ex: Mankind Divided – Breach, and adds an arcade element to Mankind Divided.

Breach puts you in the shoes of a Ripper, a virtual hacker, in a series of puzzles and challenges, where you, are sent in to steal and sell highly classified corporate data by infiltrating some of the world’s most secure servers, using the funds you acquire to upgrade both your skills and arsenal.

The game mode will be available on launch with Mankind Divided and will be continually updated with drops and updates.

And if that was not enough, Square Enix showed a vast gameplay demo, featuring a city-hub, much alike the cities in Human Revolution, only set in the Mechanical Apartheid era. The demo is set after the train station bombing seen in last year’s E3 demo and has Adam trying to get to his doctor to get his augmentations checked, but since the clinic is blocked by gangsters, Adam has to look for alternatives.

It also confirms that at least David Sarif is alive.

To top it off, Square Enix unveiled what can arguably be said the boldest move to meld fiction with reality: a bionic arm line inspired by the arm of Adam Jensen, courtesy of Open Bionics, Razer and Eidos-Montréal. This move is aimed to expand the availability of functional and fashionable prosthetics available to a wider audience through the use of open source technology.
