Attack On Titan Game Gets A Release Date

Previous attempts to make an Attack On Titan game have fallen flat. But last summer Koei Tecmo teased a project which had potential to be a better Attack On Titan game which eventually had a successful February launch in Japan. And finally the game has been announced for its release in North American on 30th August for the PlayStation family of consoles, Xbox One and Steam.

The game will get a new title excusively for Europe,A.O.T.: Wings of Freedom, while it will remain Attack on Titan in North America. This decision was probably made due to licencing issues over the anime series it’s based upon. It will launch with Japanese voice overs and English, German and French subtitles.

The game which is based on the popular anime/manga series by the same name will let players relive the moments of the first season of the Attack On Titan. You can also play as some of the most popular characters in the series, including Eren, Mikasa, Annie and Levi.

The trailer let’s us know about some of it’s gameplay features. You’ll be able to control your characters as they battle with the titans in their respective environments. You’ll have control of the maneuver gear as you attempt to take down as many Titans as possible.

Attack on Titan closely follows the riveting story-line of the anime’s first season and focuses on the exploits of various key characters, putting the player in a position to relive its most shocking, courageous and exhilarating moments. It revolves around the story of three young people who survive the destruction of their walled city district by enormous, man-eating Titans and eventually go on to join the Scout Regiment in order to protect humanity from this overpowering foe.”

 

It seems that only the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game will have physical releases, while the other three platforms will be get a digital release.
